Event description

Description

Join Susan Ploughe (www.SusanPloughe.com) for a few days in the country, away from the daily stress. Let your creative spirit flow, we will take care of the rest. Landscapes contain a wide variety of subject matter. This makes them both fun and challenging to paint. In this workshop you will focus on some of the most common elements, discovering what is important about each one and practicing techniques to paint them with confidence. During the first two days Susan will introduce and demonstrate a variety of methods for painting particular elements of the landscape. Possible elements may include skies and clouds, trees and shrubs, buildings, water and reflection, and the illusion of distance. You’ll have plenty of time to practice. The third day you will apply these skills to a more developed painting from your own photographic reference. Susan will provide individualized feedback throughout the workshop. Students may use oils, slow-drying acrylics, or pastels. Demos will be in oils.

Susan is an award winning painter and an enthusiastic instructor who loves helping students develop their skills. She belongs to the American Impressionist Society and is a Signatue Member of Oil Painters of America. Her artwork can be found in many private and corporate collections, and she has been featured in Fine Art Connoisseur, American Art Collector, and International Artist magazine.
