Educational Objectives: After attending this beginner-intermediate level program in full, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify the risk factors and trends as they relate to child emotional abuse per recent research.
  2. Summarize outcomes research as it relates to the short and long-term impact of child emotional abuse.
  3. Apply prevention and intervention strategies to case studies of families with known risk factors for child emotional abuse.

Description of Program: Often believed to be one of the murkiest forms of child maltreatment to identify, emotional abuse can have both a short-term and far-reaching impact. This seminar will clarify risk factors, hidden signs and symptoms, and outcomes research. By discussing tricky case examples of potential child emotional abuse, this seminar will also empower you to act both preventatively and confidently in your clinical work.
