Event description

Description

Successful international transportation systems are characterised by efficiency, safety, comfort and resilience to attacks and emergencies.

As one of the most densely populated and fast growing cities in the world, what are some of the challenges and benefits of living in and moving around a dynamic city like Singapore? Join Prof Lee Der-Horng as he discusses the research that goes into ensuring a sustainable and viable transportation system for future generations of commuters.

This talk is brought to you by the one-north Festival 2017.

The one-north Festival 2017 is jointly organised by the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) and the JTC Corporation, and is supported by the Singapore Science Centre.

The festival celebrates how Research, Innovation, Creativity and Enterprise are coming together in one vibrant community at one-north. This year’s theme ‘Pioneering an Innovation Future’ envisions how technologies in the one-north ecosystem play a key role in value creation.

Visitors on public days 18 and 19 August (Friday & Saturday) will be greeted with a variety of talks, interactive innovation booths and hands-on experiments for both students and families to showcase technologies in Future Work, Health and Living.
