How are the Common Core State Standards impacting English language learners (ELLs)? What do educators and policymakers need to know and do to ensure the needs of this growing population are met? On Tuesday, June 14 at 5 PM ET, join Larry Ferlazzo, co-author of “Navigating the Common Core with English-Language Learners” and an English and Social Studies teacher at Luther Burbank High School in Sacramento, Calif., and Richard Long, Executive Director of the Learning First Alliance, on the social media platform Blab as they discuss Common Core and the ramifications for ELLs. The pair will examine the challenges and opportunities that those in the classroom must navigate and what policymakers can do to support them.
