Event description
Do you have questions about the Child Dependency System?

About this Event

Have you been to court yet? Are you frustrated or confused by what did (or did not) happen? Do you have questions about the court process and the different roles involved? Join VOICES with Special Counsel, Carey Turner of the Protective Services Section at the Arizona’s Attorney General’s Office, to discuss juvenile court hearings in the Child Dependency System using a hypothetical case. Carey will take CASAs on a legal journey from the opening of a case to the various endings that could transpire. Topics will include dependency allegations, adjudications, dispositions, report and review hearings, permanency hearings, termination of parental rights, permanent guardianship, reunification, and various timelines for court processes. Questions and comments are highly encouraged throughout this training.

* Note: this training was held at VOICES on September 13, 2019
