Navigating the Academy of Management Conference for First-Time Attendees

Join us for this one-hour session organized by the Global Committee of the OB division. As a participant, you will get a chance to meet other first-time attendees, ask questions, and hear tips and tricks on planning and preparing for the annual meeting, as well as on how to successfully navigate the meeting once you are there.

Speakers

Rebecca (Becky) Bennett is the Chair of the Department of Management and a Professor of Management in the College of Business at the University of Central Florida. She studies the “dark side” of organizational behavior (employee deviance) with an increasing interest in organizational insider threats to cyber security. In addition to currently serving as Chair of the Organizational Behavior Division at the Academy of Management, Dr. Bennett is a fellow of the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology and the Association for Psychological Sciences. She attended her first AOM meetings in 1986 before she started graduate school.

Marjo-Riitta (Maikki) Diehl is an Associate Professor of Management at Aalto University School of Business in Finland. Maikki is a founding member and the present chair of the Global Committee run by the Organizational Behavior Division at the Academy of Management. She has been a member of the Division since 2005 when she first attended an Academy meeting in Honolulu, Hawaii. She also serves as Associate Editor of Journal of Organizational Behavior.

Farzana Ashraf is a PhD candidate at Macquarie Business School, Sydney. Farzana joined the OB Division (as well as the Careers and DEI Divisions) in 2022, when she first attended the AOM meeting in Seattle, USA.

Gloria Willhardt is a PhD Candidate at Justus-Liebig-University Giessen, Germany. Gloria joined the OB Division and Careers Division in 2022, when she first attended the Academy of Management meeting in Seattle, USA.

Juliana Carvalho is a PhD candidate from the Brazilian School of Public and Private Administration, at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV/EBAPE), in Rio de Janeiro. Juliana joined the OB and DEI divisions in 2022, when she first attended the Academy meeting in Seattle, USA.

Kyle Ehrhardt is an Associate Professor at the University of Colorado Denver. Kyle has been a member of the Academy of Management since 2009, when he first attended the AOM meeting in Chicago, Illinois.

Minna Paunova (PhD, IESE Business School) is Associate Professor at Copenhagen Business School. Minna has been a member of the OB Division (as well as the IM and DEI Divisions) since 2010, when she first attended the meeting in Montreal, Canada.
