Multiple Dates
Navigating Screen Time with Toddlers and Young Children - Virtual
Event Information
About this Event
Our children are growing up at a time when screens are omnipresent. As families, we are all navigating a digital landscape that includes phones, tablets, televisions, animated billboards, smartwatches and more. Because the development of new media outpaces our understanding of its effects, conversations around screen-time are often layered with opinion, judgement, and guilt.
This class is an opportunity to step back and not only learn what we really know about children and screens, but also consider how screen-time fits into our own families’ lives and how to make choices around it confidently.
Topics include:
- Current guidelines and where they come from
-Effects of different types of screens and digital experiences on children
-The value and benefits of screen-based content and activities
-Making the most of screen-time
-Finding a balance that works for your family
