Description

Please join us Wednesday, May 22, 8:30 am to 9:30 am, for a conversation on the changing legislative landscape for New Jersey and its institutions amid the new Democratic majority in the House and ongoing Republican control of the Senate. Our special guests, all of whom are Capitol Hill veterans with a unique New Jersey perspective, will share their thoughts on how the Congressional appropriations and policy process can most effectively be navigated for FYI 2020 and beyond.

The event will be held at Tortilla Coast, 8:30-9:30 am, 400 1st Street, SE, Washington, DC, across the street from the Capitol South Metro station. We will serving pastries, breakfast tacos, fruit and coffee.

You are welcome whether you are experienced in the legislative process or just looking to learn something new. Depending on the response, however, we may need to limit the number of guests, so please do not delay registering on the above tab.

Joining us for the discussion will be:

Nancy Fox, Principal at Winning Strategies Washington, who most recently served as Republican staff director of the House Appropriations Committee. Prior to that, she served over 20 years on the staff of NJ Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen, including 15 years as chief of staff, and on the staff of Rep. Silvio Conte of Massachusetts, who was Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Committee. Nancy brings her appropriations and federal funding expertise to a broad area of NJ concerns to be discussed at the breakfast.

Kirtan was formerly senior vice president of the American Bankers Association (2016 -2018) and prior to that, chief counsel and legislative director in the Office of Sen. Joe Manchin (2011-2016). Kirtan represents the Governor in DC by advocating for New Jersey's interests with the Hill and the Trump Administration.

Kyle Mulroy, Founder of Washington Strategic Consulting, previously served from 1997 to 2011 as a senior staff member for former Senator Robert Torricelli, and later founded Washington Strategic Consulting to advocate on behalf of the New Jersey health care industry, which he has been doing for the past 18 years.
