Event description

The Critical Educators for Social Justice SIG invites all critical scholars and students to our first webinar - "Navigating and Thriving in the Academy as a Critical Scholar."

In this webinar Dr. Valerie Kinloch, the Renée and Richard Goldman Dean of The School of Education of the University of Pittsburgh, and Dr. Leigh Patel, Professor in the Graduate School of Education of the University of California Riverside, will join us for a discussion around navigating and thriving in the academy as a critical scholar. This webinar will be moderated by CESJ Co-chair, Dr. Kari Kokka and CESJ Fiscal Co-chair, Dr. Sosanya Jones, with a series of questions for the panelists.

The moderators will ask Drs. Patel and Kinloch to discuss their work, how they have seen the field change, their suggestions about publishing, self care, and building community with critical scholars. The focus of this webinar will be to discuss challenges and think collectively about opportunities to thrive.

Attendees will be able to participate using the chat box function to ask questions during the webinar. For those who cannot attend, the webinar will be recorded. Please register at here and spread the word.

This event starts at 12PST/2PM CST/3EST.

We look forward to seeing you online on February 1st!
