Nature’s Rhythm: Yoga, Ayurveda + Journaling with Holli Cavalluzzi
Event Information
About this Event
What’s your constitution? Have you heard of Ayurveda and are curious?
In the two-hour workshop explore the physical and subtle body through the lens of Ayurveda, the sister science of yoga. In Ayurvedic language your constitution —the force within you— is a Dosha. You’ll learn how to interpret the Dosha energies: Vata, Pitta and Kapha which have a relationship to the five elements in nature. Find out which energy qualities give insight into YOU —from your physical tendencies and mental patterns to your emotional tendencies by taking a Dosha quiz.
The workshop will begin with a short meditation, followed by an introduction to Ayurveda where you will learn about YOUR constitution. Then we will move our bodies through a 75-minute asana practice and record our experience through journaling.
A little about Holli:
I began a yoga practice over fifteen years ago and was struck by its transformative benefits and the sense of connection I experienced. After closing a business I co-owned, I traveled across the United States for three months in an R.V with Mike my husband. Soon after we moved to Wilmington, North Carolina. In 2004, I completed a 200-hour (Hatha) teacher training in Raleigh, N.C. and studied in-depth alignment-based yoga; completing a 9-month Living Ayurveda course in 2014. I am an experienced yoga teacher (E-RYT-500) certified through Yoga Alliance. In 2017 I graduated with an M.A. in Liberal Studies from UNC-W and have been published in Elephant Journal. My classes are informed by alignment-based yoga, Vinyasa, and Ayurveda, with reverence for the ancient teachings of yoga and its history. I enjoy writing, practicing aerial silks, and love being outdoors.
