Event description

Description

To attune to the fall landscape, explore meditations with Jamie Hunt in deCordova's sculpture park. Jamie will weave together nature-based meditation practices, movement meditation, and observation of sculpture. We will explore several meditations to open our sense of awareness, and deepen our appreciation—and experience—of deCordova’s sculptures.

Significant time will be spent outdoors. Please dress for hot, cold, or wet weather accordingly.

This workshop is suitable for ages 12+ and all levels of experience.

After the program, we welcome you to stay and visit the Park and Museum.

If the fee is a financial hardship, please contact Donna Berube (dberube@decordova.org) to ask about assistance, as we would like to make this program accessible to everyone.

Please note there is no refund for 1 day workshops.

About the Facilitator

Jamie grew up catching frogs in Lincoln and prefers rock climbing to elevators and fishing to Whole Foods. Equally fascinated by the wilderness within and the wilderness of Manhattan he seeks to ask the questions others are afraid to ask, or don’t think to ask.

Jamie recently completed a year-long Awake in the Wild nature meditation teacher training program with Mark Coleman from Spirit Rock and he is in training to become an mPEAK (mindfulness and performance) coach with the UC San Diego Center for Mindfulness. He is also an Integral Coach, with Integral Coaching Canada, and a certified yoga instructor. Last fall, he studied with Master Li Jungfeng on a 36-day Sheng Zhen (qigong) movement meditation retreat.

Jamie also serves as a mission driven consultant and a Senior Faculty member for NOLS where he facilitates interpersonal and group conflict exploration with client teams, including nonprofit and corporate executives (e.g. Google Directors).
