Description

***Please note that this is a 2-part workshop that meets on October 13 and October 27. You only need to register once for both weeks!

Want to make hand-built pottery inspired by the natural world? Join April Kay, owner of Muddy Hands Happy Hearts, for a 2-part workshop where you'll learn the basics of building and glazing, meet other beginning potters, and come away with a collection of hand-made goods! April has kindly offered to donate/source all supplies, so you can feel good that your registration fee goes directly towards supporting Reflection Riding Arboretum & Nature Center's conservation efforts.

Week 1 - Hand Building: Saturday, October 13 9:30-11:30am

Week 2 - Glazing: Saturday, October 27 9:30-11:30am

Both sessions will meet in the Reflection Riding Welcome Center.

What you might make:

  • A leaf plate
  • An animal ambassador figurine
  • An inspirational plaque
  • A rose
  • Nature magnets

About the Instructor:

April Kay makes self-taught handmade pottery for anyone who believes in, practices, and needs a happy heart! She founded Muddy Hands Happy Hearts in 2006; in addition to selling her creations, she also believes in sharing her gift with charitable causes for spirit lifting and for fund-raising auctions. When she's not busy spinning, sculpting, or glazing, April also teaches at Dalton State in the biomedical sciences and volunteers as a Reflection Riding Arboretum & Nature Center docent.
