Event description
Help your clients build a bridge to secure attachment through nature contact and connection

About this event

How can you create a healing attachment process through nature?

Do you have a real-world attachment model that is therapeutically useful with your clients?

How are nature and attachment related?

Clients rarely indicate ‘attachment troubles’ as their reason for attending therapy, yet these ruptures are at the root of many common presenting issues. Relational discord, parenting conflicts, identity struggles, and existential/generalized anxiety are but a few concerns that may have pre-verbal attachment origins. Likewise, client disconnection from nature, their bodies, and their intuition is seldomly recognized as a contributor to their stressors, nor is re-connection to nature, body and intuition perceived as an antidote.

Join attachment specialist and master therapist Duey Freeman and eco-therapist Kimberly Rose for this unique workshop blending nature, attachment theory, and therapy. Our time will be spent exploring:

• The Freeman Attachment Model & Freeman Development Model as foundation

• The role of nature in regulation

• Three core ingredients in attachment work that can be applied indoors or outdoors

• The senses and sensuality - building blocks to secure connection

• Applications of these useful models to nature with yourself and your clients

• Nature-based experiments you can bring to your clinical work

• Practices personally nourishing to you

The day will be spent on our property and in our cabin on Lookout Mountain west of Golden, CO. Time will be divided between experientials with natural elements and with our horses, as well as some lecture indoors. Handouts available. Snacks and drinks will be provided; and bring lunch.
