Description

Natural Heritage Action Plan

Developing Actions Workshop

Attend the workshop to help develop and refine actions for the Natural Heritage Action Plan. The Natural Heritage Action Plan (NHAP) will help the City prioritize Guelph’s environmental and natural heritage goals and create an implementation plan for including our natural resources as part of complete healthy communities. The plan will create a framework for the City’s Official Plan policies specific to the natural heritage system and watershed planning while recognizing the interdependencies within the plan.

The workshop will include a group-based exercise to examine possible actions and generate ideas for actions around key themes and topics, including:

  • Watershed planning to help manage growth and infrastructure
  • Natural heritage, biodiversity and conservation land securement
  • Planning for sustainable and resilient ecosystems
  • Fostering community support, raising awareness and engagement through environmental stewardship
  • Continuous improvements through technical manuals, guidelines and data management

Feedback obtained through these sessions will be used to inform the preparation of a draft Natural Heritage Action Plan.
