Natural Dyes, Indigo and Shibori
Wed, June 14, 2017, 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM AEST
Bio - Cathy Moon - originally studied Textiles and Design at Newcastle CAE. My passion for fabrics led me to enrol in a Fabric Printing and Design Certificate at New England TAFE in Armidale NSW where I became fascinated with the art of Shibori. I have exhibited both nationally and internationally and have work purchased by galleries and private collectors.
I produce one of a kind shibori wearables and art pieces influenced by the huge variety
of rich and intense colours that are so much a part of the Australian landscape. I endeavour to reflect the combination of these colours together with my interpretation of Shibori techniques within my work.
Examples of my work can be viewed on my website www.camoon.com.au and I have
work published in Textile Fibre Forum Magazine, Embellish Magazine and Textiles,The Art of Mankind.
