Event description

Description

Over the past year the American stage has seen a plethora of Native plays—many of which were developed through the Native Voices Playwrights Retreat and Festival of New Plays. This year, Native Voices presents new works by veteran playwrights Dr. Carolyn M. Dunn (Muskogee Creek/Cherokee/Tunica-Choctaw-Biloxi) and Frank Henry Kaash Katasse (Tlingit), as well as newcomer Ed Bourgeois (Mohawk). An audience talkback follows each reading.

Where the Summit Meets the Stars by Frank Henry Kaash Katasse

A young Tlingit woman contemplates life and death after the birth of her daughter and realizes that her past has made her stronger than she ever knew possible.
