Event description

Description

Over the past year the American stage has seen a plethora of Native plays—many of which were developed through the Native Voices Playwrights Retreat and Festival of New Plays. This year, Native Voices presents new works by veteran playwrights Dr. Carolyn M. Dunn (Muskogee Creek/Cherokee/Tunica-Choctaw-Biloxi) and Frank Henry Kaash Katasse (Tlingit), as well as newcomer Ed Bourgeois (Mohawk). An audience talkback follows each reading.

Soledad by Dr. Carolyn M. Dunn

A teenager finds old cassette tapes of her Cherokee father's once-famous pow wow songs and presents them as her senior project. Will the surprise be a welcome one for her single dad?
