About this event

Every homeowner can help restore our bird and insect populations, support our pollinators and restore the health of our soil - by gardening with native plants!

We'll explore what sparked your interest and motivates you to be a native plant gardener, then cover the "how and why" to incorporate native plants in your garden, no matter how big or small -

  • Why plant native, and how to determine what's native to your area
  • How much area is needed to be "effective"
  • Books and online resources to research the right plant for the right place
  • Resources for native plants from reliable sources
  • How to prepare, plant and care for your natives
  • Enjoying and tracking the benefits of your native plants - the joy and reward!

There will be time for Q&A after the main presentation. Registration is open to all US gardeners, regardless of planting zone or ecoregion.

Lifescapes.design is hosting this seminar. The presenter, Michele Hensey, has been studying native plants and an avid gardener for decades. As a student of ecological gardening and a trained coach, Michele's goal is to help others learn the benefits of native plant gardening so every yard provides a pathway for the bees, butterflies and birds that are crucial to both the beauty of our earth, and our food chain.
