Description

The City of Fort Worth Park & Recreation Department introduces Native Neighborhoods. We will be at Chisholm Trail Community Center on Saturday, September 23 from 11am - 3pm. The first 50 Fort Worth residents to register will receive 5 free native plants & a native tree (for pick up at Chisholm Trail Community Center).

*Must have a Fort Worth address & present a copy of your City of Fort Worth Water bill to pick up plants. One RSVP per household.

The plants were started from seeds collected at the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge & grown out at our greenhouse. The 5 plants will be (depending upon availability at the time):

* Little bluestem (sun)

* Frostweed (shade to partial sun)

* American germander (shade to partial sun)

* Mexican hat (sun)

* Bergamot (sun to partial shade)

One gallon native trees are grown & provided by City of Fort Worth Forestry Section.

Information about your plants, their pollinators, how & where to plant them, maintenance needs & landscaping tips will be available upon pick-up.
