About this Event

Into ferns? Texas has it's own! Get to know the native ferns of the DFW metroplex.

How many native ferns grow near you? Where can you find them? How do they look like? What are the best months to go fern-hunting in the DFW metroplex? These are questions that Lani DuFresne, a student of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Rice University, and Tiana Rehman, Herbarium Collections Manager from the Botanical Research Institute of Texas, will answer during the next (and last) meeting of the Southwestern Fern Society, next Sunday, October 13. During this talk, Lani and Tiana will take us into a 'ferntastic' virtual tour to show us some of the amazing native ferns that actually grow in our area.

The meeting will start at 2:30 and refreshments will be served. Please take this opportunity to hear a great lecture and to meet fern enthusiasts, and get your questions answered.

NOTE: This is unfortunately the final scheduled meeting of the Southwestern Fern Society with us at North Haven Gardens. We thank them for many years of great programs and helping us learn ferns!
