The goal of the summit is to help Native American youth prepare for a bright today and an even brighter future.

About this Event

The Youth Summit will include three keynote speakers and five afternoon breakout sessions on the following topics (1) Goal Setting, (2) Professions with a focus on STEM, (3) Healthy Relationships including information on bullying, people with different abilities, and the two spirit/LGBTQ+ community, (4) A student led breakout session featuring peer advice on making it through high school and into college, and (5) college preparation and scholarship information. Our keynote speakers for the event currently include Chance Rush with Marcus Guinn, Chaske Spencer, and Jeremy Fields.

Chance is a motivational speaker who excels in youth leadership events with a high-energy, positive message that sets the tone and captivates the audience. Chance and Marcus Guinn team up and together, the duo brings humor, professionalism, and powerful high-energy to the event. Their unique approach of the OLD WAY and today's society has been a success in their MC & DJ services.

Chaske Spencer is best known for his role as Sam Uley (Alpha of the werewolves) in the Twilight Movie Series. Spencer was born of the Lakota Sioux tribe and raised on Indian reservations in Montana and Idaho. He is committed to making a difference with all people in the area of reducing poverty and creating sustainable communities. As someone who struggled with alcohol and drugs, Chaske has a special prevention message for Native American youth.

Jeremy Fields has worked extensively as a leadership trainer throughout Indian country. He is passionate about empowering tribal communities, specializing in facilitating internal (mental, emotional, psychological) healing for youth and adults. Presently, Jeremy is spearheading an initiative focused on bringing awareness to the lasting effects of historical/intergenerational trauma and its implications upon the Native American family structure.
