National Trails Day on Mount Sutro
Sat, June 3, 2017, 8:30 AM – 2:00 PM PDT
Join Sutro Stewards in celebration of National Trails Day!
We will devote our morning to trail work, finishing the new Clarendon Trail. This is a big milestone for the Mount Sutro trail system, the Bay Area Ridge Trail route through San Francisco, and connectivity to adjacent open spaces. Join us to be a part of this significant trail building effort!
Be prepared for some fun and rewarding labor! The event starts at 8:30am from the Woods Lot and festivities begin with a variety of projects along the Clarendon Trail and continue after a morning of work with lunch, refreshing beverages, and our traditional National Trails Day raffle. You must register in advance for this event. The registration includes lunch and your ticket for the raffle.
Thank you to our National Trails Day Sponsors:
REI, UCSF & Fort Point Beer Co.
& National Trails Day Partners: Bay Area Ridge Trail Council, SF Urban Riders & San Francisco Parks Alliance
Meet at 8:30am at the Woods Lot at 100 Medical Center Way for registration and orientation. Parking is free at the Woods Lot during the program, with overflow parking available at the adjacent Surge Lot, located just north of the Woods Lot. The Woods Lot is about three blocks from the UCSF Parnassus Campus and can be reached by public transportation to Parnassus followed by a short (uphill) walk to the Woods Lot.
Tools, gloves, instruction, and lunch is provided. Please bring water and wear clothes to get dirty. Long pants and sturdy, closed-toe shoes are required; long sleeves and layers, and a hat for sun protection as recommended. Please no dogs.
You must be 18 years of age to register for this event. Minors 14 years or older must be accompanied by an adult and both must register. Children under 14 are not recommended for this event (but please join us for our regular work days!).
We typically work rain or shine; high winds or heavy rain cancels.
