October is National Reuse Month and there will be events held all over the country. Come along to the Dublin City Council Offices on Wood Quay for a small expo showcasing resue products and services.
The main idea is to promote reuse, be that in upcycling of clothes or in sharing services, the aim is to show people that these services exist and can help to make life easier and save money all while doing a little bit to save the environment. I think that sharing economy is currently the best and quickest way for us to move in a positive way to combat environmental damage and resource depletion; it also helps to generate and instil social inclusion and cohesion. This societal move will allow for a mutual respect of these products and services as greater value will be placed on them.
This shift in attitudes and behaviours will not be an easy one especially in Ireland where we seem to have it ingrained that ownership is necessary but it is hoped that events such as this expo and all of the other events planned throughout Reuse Month will help us make a move in the necessary direction.
So please come along and be part of the movement in the right direction.
GoCar.ie will be offering a disocunted rate for those who attend the event and sign up on the day.
