National Recovery Month: Author Talk with Patrick Radden Keefe

An in-person conversation with Patrick Radden Keefe and moderator Christopher Lydon will take place Sunday, September 19, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Old South Church in Boston (at the corner of Dartmouth and Boylston Streets at the Copley MBTA station). The event will also be livestreamed to the Mayor's Office of Arts and Culture's Facebook page.

"Empire of Pain" is a grand, devastating portrait of three generations of the Sackler family, famed for their philanthropy, whose fortune was built by Valium and whose reputation was destroyed by OxyContin. From the prize-winning and bestselling author of "Say Nothing", as featured in the HBO documentary, "Crime of the Century".

Books will be made available on site by Trident Booksellers.

This event is produced by The Mayor's Office of Recovery Services, The Mayor's Office of Arts and Culture, and Rize Foundation. Learn more about how the City is celebrating National Recovery Month.
