Description

Please join the Student Conservation Association (SCA) in celebrating National Public Lands Day with the Village of Riverdale as we plant 85 native trees in Riverdale on Saturday, September 28th!

Planting will take place throughout the neighborhoods between S Illinois St and Indiana Ave, south of 138th Street!


WHEN: Saturday, September 28th, 9:00 am to Noon. Registration beginning at 8:30 am, kick-off at 9:00 am.

WHERE: Meet at the Riverdale Public Saftey Building (725 West 138th Street) for a planting demonstration. Look for the Student Conservation Association work truck and trailer as well as the blue pop up tent! After the planting demonstration, we will relocate to the nearby neighborhood to plant trees!

WHAT: Volunteers will plant, mulch, and water native trees.

BRING WITH YOU: Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes and bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated.

PROVIDED: All project supplies (tools, gloves, etc.) are provided. Drinking water and coffee will be available throughout the event.
