Join us for the 2018 National Kids Yoga Conference – For Adults Bringing Yoga, Mindfulness, and SEL to Kids - Friday October 12- Sunday October 14


Celebrating its 5th year, NKYC will bring you ALL of what has been great in this professional learning environment AND #elevate this year’s gathering to feature:

  • Town Hall Forum on Accessible Yoga, Mindfulness, and SEL for children with discussion topics ranging from Research to Trauma to Policy to Interventions
  • Basic Teacher Training Certificate Track
  • Advanced Teacher Training Track
  • Teen Only Teacher Training Track

October 12-14, 2018, Old Town Alexandria (just minutes outside of Washington DC)

What to Expect:

Throughout the weekend we will learn about the research, techniques, and best practices needed to thoughtfully lead the movement to bring yoga and mindfulness to children and youth across the country. You will leave the conference energized with a clear vision of your next steps to successfully bring yoga and mindfulness to the kids in your community.

What is Happening Each Day:

This year's conference features presenters from organizations and institutions that have been at the forefront of kids yoga, mindfulness, and SEL in education. You will learn about innovative approaches, pioneering research and explore a wealth of new tools to support your vision of this work in your community.

Friday, October 12: Pre-Conference sessions and Teacher Training Tracks Begin

Saturday, October 13: Keynote speakers, breakout sessions, networking, and best practice sessions

Sunday, October 14: Town Hall Forum and Thought Leadership on Accessible Yoga, Mindfulness, and SEL for children with discussion topics ranging from Research to Trauma to Policy to Interventions

Full Weekend, Saturday & Sunday, and Saturday Only Tickets:

Our conference format allows you to choose the breakout workshops that are most interesting and relevant for you! The breakout sessions are facilitated by leaders from across the country in their respective fields. Create your own track by individually selecting your sessions OR, sign up for all sessions within a “specialized” Yoga, Mindfulness, SEL, or Intensive track. While Yoga, Mindfulness, and SEL (Social Emotional Learning) may speak for themselves, our Intensive track gives you extended sessions on the fundamental skills we may need support in – such as research. In addition to breakout sessions, our Saturday keynote sessions will bring all conference attendees together in a to learn from leaders in the fields of Yoga, Mindfulness, and SEL in Education.

On Sunday, all attendees will join together for "Town Hall" forums, in which speakers and panelists will lead talks on effectively supporting yoga, mindfulness, and SEL initiatives in education.

Teacher Training Tickets

  • Basic – if you are “new” to implementing or teaching yoga, mindfulness, or SEL for kids, this certificate track is a well-rounded offering that will give you the foundation needed to start teaching yoga and mindfulness right away. You will be given a certificate of completion at the end of the conference weekend.
  • Advanced - if you participated in the first NKYC teacher training OR you’ve participated in other weekend long modules, this track is perfect for you! The sessions for the advanced weekend allow you to delve deeper into the tools you need to create sustainable programs and classes. You will be given a certificate of completion at the end of the conference weekend.
  • Teens – for students ages 13-19 only, this track is for teens interested in teaching their peers in their respective communities OR becoming more familiar with the practices of yoga, mindfulness, and SEL for themselves. Teens will be given a certificate of completion at the end of the conference weekend.

Refund Policy

All ticket sales are final. No refunds will be issued for any reason after September 1, 2018. Additionally, each breakout session is dependent on attendee registration and we will adjust sessions as needed based on attendance.
