Event description

Description

Columbia University's Grupo Quisqueyano is excited to host the 13th Annual National Dominican Student Conference Friday March 8th-Sunday March 10th, 2019. This years theme will be "Quisqueya: Lo Bello y Lo Feo. Unpacking Our Identity" and we are thrilled to share our speaker roster with you as time passes. This conference will be a valuable experience for all who come and we aim to celebrate our heritage, acknowledge and critique problems within our culture, and uplift the next generation of Dominican American leaders.

We are excited to shake things up by having a performance showcase our opening night highlighting the richness of our culture and a black-tie gala on the second night. These events will take place at Columbia University's most prestigious and beautiful venue, the Low Library Rotunda, which has been visited by many heads of state including the leaders of Italy, Japan, and Chile and the Dalai Lama. This venue is entrenched with history and we hope to add our Dominican sabor over the course of the conference! We will, of course, be offering several workshops, panels, and social events throughout the conference as well.
