The selected honorees represent the ideals and mission of our founders, Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune and President Emeritis Dr. Dorothy Irene Height. This year's honorees are:

The National Council of Negro Women, Inc. ~ Long Island Cross County Section is a (501c 3) organization. Our mission is to assist minority women and their families to better their economic situation. We do this through Health, Education and Advocacy. Our annual Black History Fund Raiser provides some of the funding needed for our outreach programs.We also collaborate with other like minded organizations and affiliates to help fulfil our goals.
The National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) is a non-profit organization with the mission to advance the opportunities and the quality of life for African-American women, their families and communities. NCNW fulfills this mission through research, advocacy, national and community-based services and programs in the United Statesand Africa. With its 28 national affiliate organizations and its more than 200 community-based sections, NCNW has an outreach to nearly four million women, all contributing to the peaceful solutions to the problems of human welfare and rights.
