Description

The National Capital Region Building Code Academy (NCRBCA) will provide a review of the Sustainable DC 2.0 as it applies to DCRA’s Green and Energy Codes.

To attend this event you must be working in the capacity of one of the following categories: DCRA Plan Reviewer, Combination Construction Inspector, Property Maintenance Inspector, DCRA Third Party Approved Companies, Trade Professionals, or Contractors. Additionally, members of the District of Columbia Code Officials Association (DCCOA) are welcome to attend. (Membership information is located at the bottom of this page).

Event details:

Training topics will include the following: how to make existing and new buildings more sustainable,improving energy efficiency, increasing renewable energy and modernizing energy infrastructure by integrating the most recent version of the International Green Construction Code (IgCC). (DCRA Sustainable DC 2.0 class curriculum is under review for possible approval of ICC CEUS’s. This advertisement will reflect any updates as they become available.)

Objectives:

Participants should receive adequate training to:

Understand the requirement(s) within Sustainable 2.0 for adoption of the most recent International Code Council (ICC) Green Construction Code (IgCC)

Gain a general understanding of what the role is for Code Officials today and into 2020.

Identify impacts on Plan Review and Inspections and the impact on future DC Codes.

Class - 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

Note: Participation in the entire duration of the class is required to obtain a certificate of completion. Please allow sufficient time to pass through security in our main lobby.
