Description

Pathways to Swiss-inspired Apprenticeships in the United States of America

Why do Swiss companies build apprenticeship programs in the US? And how do they do it?

In conjunction with the National Apprenticeship Week, the Embassy of Switzerland is hosting a TED-talk style event dedicated to the different pathways leading to Swiss-inspired apprenticeships in the USA: We have invited several companies that present their own pathway that led them to success, including the Max Daetwyler Corporation that presents their well-established approach together with other companies in their Apprenticeship 2000 consortium in North Carolina, which has been founded in 1995. Zurich North America tells their recent success story of early 2016 when they introduced the Swiss apprenticeship model within their company in Schaumburg, Illinois. And a third approach will be presented by CareerWise Colorado and Intertech Plastics who participated in the state wide efforts for the apprenticeship model in the state of Colorado.
This interesting panel will discuss the challenges and successes of the different pathways they have chosen, and presents inspirational ways for new companies in the future.

The discussion will be followed by a buffet reception at the Residence of the Ambassador of Switzerland.
