Description

Tickets are optional but recommended.

The seventh annual National Agenda Speaker Series explores the divides that exist in the United States, including gender, geographic, religious, partisan, and cultural.

David Bonior was elected to the Michigan State Legislature in 1972 and served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1976 to 2002. Bonior served as Democratic whip from 1991 to 2002, making him one of the highest-ranking Democrats in the House. As a member of the advisory board of the Mikva Challenge in Washington, D.C., he works to engage students in civic action.

Mike Castle served as Delaware’s Governor from 1985 to 1992 and as the U.S. Representative for Delaware’s at-large congressional district from 1993 to 2011. Castle was president of the Republican Main Street Partnership, a group of centrist Republican members of Congress, and was the co-chair of several congressional caucuses.

The fall speaker series, which is free and open to the public, will be at Mitchell Hall on the University of Delaware's Newark campus on these Wednesday evenings: September 6, September 20, October 4, October 18, November 1, and November 15. National Agenda is hosted by the University of Delaware Center for Political Communication and is made possible with support from the University of Delaware Office of the Provost.
