Abstract:

Defending Against Nation State Attacks & Ransomware

Two growing attack trends on the cybersecurity radar in 2020 are ransomware and Nation State attacks. Nation State attacks are a growing threat, up almost 100% in the past year. Ransomware often targets those most vulnerable, organizations with flat networks and tight budgets. In some cases, like WannaCry and NotPetya we even see ransomware attackers utilizing discovered Nation State toolkits with damaging results. We are tired of hearing, “Cyberattacks are getting more sophisticated and far harder to defend against.” There is some truth to that but the reality is, most enterprises are absolutely capable of meeting the risk landscape head on, with just a few simple, achievable steps.
