Event description

Description

Join us for a conversation with Nathan Englander, author of the recent novel, kaddish.com!

The celebrated Pulitzer finalist and prize-winning author of Dinner at the Center of the Earth and What We Talk About When We Talk About Anne Frank delivers his best work yet, a streamlined comic masterpiece about a son's failure to say Kaddish for his father.

This conversation will kick off an all-night celebration of the Jewish holiday of Shavuot, commemorating the giving of the Ten Commandments. Shavuot Across Brooklyn is a collaboration between CBE and a host of other Jewish communities in Brooklyn. Join us for Nathan Englander at 8pm, followed by holiday services and cheesecake, leading into a night of study until 5am. Come for all or part of the night and enjoy a program of learning, singing, and dancing as some of Brooklyn's finest teachers gather in one place for one of the most diverse Tikkun Leil Shavuot celebrations around.
