Natalie Caña, author of A PROPOSAL THEY CAN'T REFUSE - a Boswell event
Event Information
About this event
Boswell presents an evening with Natalie Caña, author of A Proposal They Can't Refuse. In conversation with Liz Lincoln.
Kamilah Vega, a Puerto Rican chef, and Liam Kane, an Irish American whiskey distiller, have a problem - their two scheming octogenarian grandfathers are demanding that they get married. If they refuse, their grandfathers will sell the building that houses both their businesses. With their futures on the line, Kamilah and Liam plan to outfox the devious duo, faking an engagement until they both get what they want. But soon, they find themselves tangled up in more than either of them bargained for.
Publishers Weekly, Kirkus, and Booklist all gave starred reviews! From Booklist: "With beautiful references to Puerto Rican and Irish folklore, the cultural and linguistic nuances Caña inserts into her heartwarming contemporary romance are flawless, as is the slow buildup of romantic feelings."
Note: Masks are required by all audience members during this event. Speakers may be unmasked during their presentation.
Natalie Caña loves to incorporate her you'll-never-believe-what-just-happened-to-me personal experiences, enthusiasm for telenovela tomfoolery, and love for her Latinx culture into creating funny, heartfelt, and just a little bit over-the-top contemporary romances for characters who look and sound like her. A Proposal They Can't Refuse is her debut novel.
Liz Lincoln is the author of multiple novels including Love Me, Kiss Me, and Make Me, and she lives in Milwaukee.
