ABOUT

Nasty Women is a global art movement that serves to demonstrate solidarity among artists. It draws together those who identify with being a Nasty Woman in the face of threats to roll back women’s rights, individual rights, and abortion rights. With over forty fundraising art exhibitions taking place around the United States and abroad, Nasty Women Exhibitions also serve to support organizations defending these rights and to be a platform for organization and resistance.

NASTY WOMEN EXHIBITION: LONDON - COLLABERATION WITH CREATIVE DEBUTS

Over the past year we’ve seen some huge political shifts – here in the UK with Brexit, in the US with the election of President Trump, and around the globe. In a world that feels increasingly unpredictable we need our political leaders to stand up and show that one thing is non-negotiable – the human values of equality, fairness and compassion that define British society.

These shared values mean looking outwards. They mean committing to using our voice.

Nasty Women Exhibition: London thrives to help individuals use their voice through the expression of the arts, working with the fantastic Creative Debuts to promote new emerging feminist artists, photographers, video makers and much much more!

Have your voice heard within the heart of the arts! At the Black and White Building, Shoreditch and contribute to raising awareness for Rape Crisis UK and Women for Women International.

THE ESTABLISHMENT OF NASTY WOMEN EXHIBITION

The first Nasty Women event was held in New York, USA on 12-15th Jan 2017. It was started by Roxanne Jackson and Jessamyn Fiore with a facebook post that read:Hello female artists/curators! Lets organize a NASTY WOMEN group show!!! Who’s interested???
The massive response has taken this call to arms into building an ever-expanding network of Nasty Women Artists & Art Organizers that will culminate in multiple exhibitions. Please visit Other Nasty Venues for more details on organizing an exhibition in your city.

Curated by Paige Megan Hawley & Rejane Bidi: In partnership with Creative Debuts
