Ladies and now guys too! We've got a change in the schedule and now this one is for gals and guys too! , This is your chance to learn weightlifting technique from 1992 Olympian, Masters Weightlifting Hall of Fame member, and USAW National Coach Osman Manzanares of Nashville Weightlifting Club.
This clinic will focus on the clean and jerk lift and is for people who are not members of Nashville Weightlifting. Crossfitters and other lifters who are interested in learning weightlifting technique are welcome.
- Discussion of clean and jerk technique and points of performance (start position, first pull, second/third pull, receiving position/elbows up, recovery, dip and drive for the jerk, jerk recovery, power/squat jerk vs split jerk) - 10 - 15 minutes
- Warm up - 10 - 15 minutes
- Actual training - Remainder of the session - you will put what you have learned to work and receive expert feedback on your technique
Bring your normal training gear with you - lifting shoes, knee sleeves, wrist wraps, tape, etc.
