Description

Nashville's longest-running DBT consultation team is bringing Dr. Maslar back for another 10-Day DBT Training. This comprehensive training will be instrumental for any practitioner interested in providing adherent DBT services for their clients and for obtaining certification in Dialectical Behavior Therapy.

THE DATES and TIMES:

August 4 and 5, 2017, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

September 8 and 9, 2017, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

October 13 and 14, 2017, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

November 10 and 11, 2017, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

December 1 and 2, 2017, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Michael Maslar is the Director of Mindfulness and Behavior Therapies at The Family Institute at Northwestern University. He is a licensed clinical psychologist, and an Assistant Professor at Northwestern University's Medical School in the Division of Psychology. Dr. Maslar received his undergraduate degree from Purdue University and graduate degrees from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.

He has extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Functional Analytic Psychotherapy, and other mindfulness and behavioral therapies. Dr. Maslar is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, The Midwest DBT Team Leaders Group, and the Chicago DBT Consortium.

Training Objectives:

1. To understand the theoretical foundations of DBT, including Radical Behaviorism, Dialectics and Zen practice.


2. To understand the evidence base for the effectiveness of DBT.


3. To understand how to conduct effective individual DBT.


4. To understand how to conduct effective phone consultation in DBT.


5. To understand how to conduct effective DBT skills groups.


6. To understand how to conduct effective team consultation in DBT.

Yes, there is parking at the New Directions facility.

There will be coffee, water, light snacks, and provisions for salads/sandwiches. There are also a number of restaurants and fast food facilities nearby.
