Event description

Description

The University of Idaho and Washington State University will co-host a town hall event on September 26-27 to roll out the 2018 report of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) titled Branches from the Same Tree: Integrating the Arts, Humanities, and Sciences in Higher Education. There will be an evening reception at WSU on Thursday, the 26th, and a full schedule of panel discussions and breakout sessions on supporting cross-disciplinary and cross-institutional research and teaching at our universities on Friday, the 27th, taking place in The Idaho Student Union Building (formerly The Idaho Commons). For a detailed agenda, follow this link www.webpages.uidaho.edu/webteam/research/nas-ui-wsu-agenda.pdf. We invite interested faculty members, graduate students, and other members of the UI community to attend.

The purpose of this event is to celebrate existing cross-disciplinary efforts at our two universities, identify any obstacles to such work, and develop strategies for fostering even more future collaborations among colleagues at our own institution and between our two campuses. If you have any questions about the event, please contact ORED Faculty Fellow Scott Slovic at slovic@uidaho.edu.
