Join NASA to participate online in the launch of the Laser Communications Relay Demonstration
About this event
Registration will provide communications about launch schedule changes, information about highlighted mission activities, and access to curated mission resources.
Be our virtual guest for the launch of NASA’s Laser Communications Relay Demonstration (LCRD). LCRD will fly as a payload on STPSat-6, the primary spacecraft of the Space Test Program (STP-3) mission for the Department of Defense. LCRD will launch on a United Launch Alliance Atlas V 551 rocket from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.
As space missions generate and collect more data, higher bandwidth communications technologies are needed to bring data home. LCRD is testing an enhanced communications capability called laser communications to enable this.
All resources, participation, and registration are FREE. Register to let NASA know that you're virtually participating!
While there is no physical ticket for online participation nor access to in-person launch activities, register to participate from your spot in the universe!
