Narrative Shifter's Book Club & Gallery Visit (Sudan Retold)

Join us for our final event of 2025!

We’re inviting you into a space of intentional witnessing.

We’ll begin with a visit to Sudan Retold, at Almas Art Gallery. Through art, archive, and imagination, it confronts the violence of forgetting and recentres Sudanese voices on their own terms - not as headlines, but as histories, futures, and living resistance.

After the gallery, we'll be sitting together at a spot close by and do our usual book club circle on Leila Aboulela’s River Spirit, a novel that reclaims a chapter of Sudan’s past too often flattened by colonial narratives. Given the ongoing atrocities and genocide in Sudan, we thought it's imperative on us to amplify this cause as we hit the 2 year mark for Narrative Shifters!
