NANOCON MK. IV

Friday, March 24, 2017 - 5PM to 9:30PM (Film Festival Only)

Saturday, March 25, 2017 - 10AM to 10PM (Full Convention Activities)

This year, the NanoCon Mk. IV Science-Fiction Convention begins on Friday, March 24, 2017 with The NanoCon International Science-Fiction Film Festival. Winning entries from this year's festival will premiere during a red-carpet event at the Wallenberg Auditorium, in the Rose Center for the Performing Arts, at Lower Columbia College.

The full NanoCon Mk. IV convention activities will be held on March 25, 2017, 10 am - 10 pm, in the Health & Science Building on the Lower Columbia College campus in Longview, Washington.

The convention includes SF films and episodes, stories, presentations and discussions, tabletop games, a console and PC gaming room, and vendors and artists.  T-shirts and posters will be available.  Cosplay is welcome!  Whether you're a science fiction fan or just curious, there's something for everyone.

FILM FESTIVAL INFORMATION

The annual festival, now in it’s second season, accepts submissions of short-subject, science-fiction films from all over the world. This year 959 films were submitted from 88 countries.

Cosplay (science-fiction related costume) or formal attire is preferred but not required. Walk the red carpet with science-fiction characters and local celebrities.

  • 5:00-6:30PM - Festivities begin with food and drink in the Rose Center Lobby
  • 6:30-8:30PM - Winning films shown in the Wallenberg Auditorium
  • 8:30-9:30PM - Gold Member ticket holders are invited to share dinner with the our special guest, Northwest science-fiction author, Ken Lizzi, on the Rose Center Mezzanine.

ADMISSION INFORMATION

  • Film Festival Only - $5 - *Individuals under 17 yrs. must be accompanied by an adult. Some films may not be suitable for children under 13 yrs. Films submitted specifically for the Youth category will premiere on Saturday, March 25, 2017.
  • Bronze-Level Member - $10 - Includes admission to all NanoCon Mk. IV activities.
  • Silver-Level Member - $25 - Includes admission to all NanoCon Mk. IV activities and an official NanoCon Mk. IV t-shirt.
  • Gold-Level Member - $50 - Includes admission to all NanoCon Mk. IV activities, an official NanoCon Mk. IV t-shirt, official signed poster, and reserved seating at all event activities.

Admission can be purchased at the door, online at http://nanocon.co/register or through Eventbrite.

Come checkout the LCC Science-Fiction Club and have some fun!

The Science-Fiction Club provides a community where students interested in science-fiction can discuss science fiction stories, novels, shows, and movies.

Members discuss science fiction and related topics at club meetings. Members are also informed of upcoming events such as conventions, and they help support events held on campus such as science-fiction movie viewings.
