Event description

Description

Join us on May 4th, 2019 for Nani Heʻeia -- an ʻāina elegant fundraiser event at historic Heʻeia Fishpond to support Paepae o Heʻeia.

This year we are proud to present our partners, collaborators, and friends as the celebrated chefs for our aloha ʻāina cuisine. You will delight in food grown and prepared by Hoʻokuaʻāina and Dean & Michelle Wilhelm, Papahana Kuaola and Kealoha Domingo, Kākoʻo ʻŌiwi and Lindsey Ozawa, Hoʻoulu ʻĀina and the Roots Cafe crew, Koʻolau ʻĀina Momona and Tammy Smith, and finally PILI Group and Mark Noguchi.

Renowned kupaʻāina of Heʻeia Theresa Bright, Kawika Kahiapo, and Frank Hewett will provide ʻono music for your ears along with Nā Hōkū Hanohano award-winning musician Chad Takatsugi and friends.

There will be live and silent auctions as well as food stations spanning the fishpond wall so please wear footwear appropriate for walking.

Proceeds from this event will directly support the future cultivation of local and sustainable seafood in the fishpond. Paepae o Heʻeia honors the legacy of the fishpond as a place of traditional Hawaiian aquaculture and will activate the 800-year old pond for its intended purpose – to grow food for our community.
