Description

September 13 - "The Art of Play & Toy Motivation - Recall & Leash Walking" 10am - 5pm Cost: $99 - $199

This session has limited space for participant dogs and handlers. We have all worked with dogs who seem less than thrilled when we try to reinforce with toys or play. Nando and Jo-Rosie will share with us some secrets to get dogs excited to play with us and toys. Remember reinforcement is in determined by the "reinforcee", we will learn how to help our dogs want to play and engage with toys for reinforcement. We will be working on some skills of leash walking and recall as well. This class is designed for the dog trainer or dog owner, so feel free to bring your clients along with you!

September 13 Evening - "Grumpy Dogs - What the Body Language is Telling Us" 6:30pm - 8:30pm Cost: $29 - $39

We are inviting rescue groups in Southern California to attend this evening session for FREE! We know how important it is to ensure that volunteers and staff working in the rescue world have educational opportunites to continue to learn about canine behavior and how to manage, modify and understand these dogs. Nando & Jo-Rosie are the stars of a very successful TV show in the UK, "Rescue Dog to Super Dog" where they have pulled dogs from various rescues and have successfully trained them to become service dogs for individuals who are in need. This session will have tickets available for trainers and dog owners as well but they will be limited as the majority of space is reserved for FREE tickets for rescue volunteers and staff members.

September 14 - "The Science of Dog-Dog Aggression" 10am - 5pm Cost: $99 - $119

This session will focus on theoretical knowledge and how to apply it to a practical behavior case. We will review different types of dog/dog aggression; how dogs display aggression; nature or nurture; diagnosis and prognosis; set-ups; defensive (fear based) aggression vs. non-fearful aggression; measurement of success and how to evaluate. This session is geared toward the dog trainer that works with aggression or would like to begin working aggression cases. Owners of reactive or aggressive dogs that have been in training may also benefit from Nando and Jo-Rosie's take on this difficult and far too common behavioral challenge.

September 14 Evening - "Dog-Dog Aggression: A Case Study" 6:30pm - 8:30pm Cost: $29 - $39

Jo-Rosie will take us through a client case that she recently worked allowing us to share in the planning, adjustments and successes of a dog that had severe dog-dog aggressive behavior. In the case study, which covers a 1 year timespan, we will get insight into all aspects including owner feedback. This is an excellent stand alone session but if you have participated in our daytime session on dog-dog aggression, it will give you the additional benefit of understanding the practical application of the information we have reviewed. This session is geared toward dog trainers that work with aggression or who would like to begin working aggression cases. It is also an excellent session for owners of reactive/aggressive dogs to attend.

Discounts Available for Group Tickets Purchased. Hotel suggestions available. CCPDT and IAABC CEU's have not been approved but are being submitted for review.
