Lynda M Isbell, PhD, Professor of Psychology, Department of Psychology University of Massachusetts, will be the key note speaker at the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) MetroWest Annual Meeting. The meeting will take place at Employment Options at 82 Brigham Street in Marlborough, Massachusetts September 22, 2017, reception starts at 5:30 P.M.

NAMI MetroWest is a non-profit, all volunteer local chapter of NAMI Massachusetts. The mission of NAMI MetroWest is to provide education, support, and advocacy for individuals and families dealing with mental illness.

The theme of the meeting is “Fighting Stigma: What you can do.” Dr. Isbell will talk about things we can do in our everyday life to fight stigma. People with mental illness are stigmatized in our society and face discrimination in education, employment, health services and social interaction.
