NAMI Waukesha is looking for education presenters for our Ending the Silence Program and youth Stories of Hope! Sign up for one of these dates to learn more about Ending the Silence and how you can become a presenter for NAMI Waukesha, no obligation! Presenters can volunteer or receive a stipend for the presentations they complete! Check out the impact of NAMI Ending the Silence!

Youth Stories of Hope is a live, 40 minute public education program, in which two trained speakers share compelling personal stories about living with mental health conditions during their youth and/or transitional-age years. The presentation takes the young people through the speaker’s journey from the time they began experiencing symptoms, to the importance of asking for help, and ending with what they do now to stay well. In addition sharing their story, speakers lead the students through various activities like brain breaks, mindfulness, gratitude journals and self-affirmations.

NAMI Ending the Silence (ETS) is a 50-minute mental health awareness program for high school age youth. Youth learn how to recognize the early warning signs of a mental health condition and what to do if they or someone they know is exhibiting these signs. During this presentation, presenters educate and share their stories on recovery with youth, instilling hope that recovery is possible.

NAMI Waukesha is looking for Ending the Silence Lead Presenters and Young Adult Presenters. Lead Presenters do the majority of the education of the presentation (25-30 min) and the Young Adult Presenter can help the lead with content but then tells their story at the end and helps answers questions (15 min). Presenters will have to be able to attend an in person training to become officially an Ending the Silence presenter through NAMI Wisconsin.
