About the speaker
Jan Schultink is an internationally acclaimed presentation designer. After graduating as an IT engineer, Jan spent 10 years with management consulting firm McKinsey & Company in Amsterdam and London. Most of his client work involved supporting senior management of Fortune 500 companies on the sell-side of M&A transactions.
In his own firm, Idea Transplant, Jan developed these McKinsey-style investor presentations further, supplementing business content with a more visual, and story-telling based, design approach. Presentation design firm Idea Transplant has clients all over the world, ranging from the smallest startups, to the largest corporations, and including VC, PE, and hedge funds. His blog is one of the most-read resources in the field of presentation design in the world.
Jan is the founder of a software startup that is developing a presentation design tool aimed at everyday business use, providing an alternative to bloated, bullet point focussed software that executives have been using since the 1990s. (SlideMagic is still in private beta).
What you will learn
In his talk "Secrets of a presentation designer," Jan will take you through a few simple design methods that can make a tremendous difference to the way your presentation slides look. In addition, Jan will discuss the typical elements of a startup investor pitch, and give you a preview of what to expect in VC meetings.
