Event description

Description

Nadia's writing has been described as “raw, real and heart-wrenching.”

Although under-reported, suicide is the number one cause of teen death. Bullying is one of the most common triggers, including the cyberbullying that goes on in teen social circles.

Nadia King's short teen fiction, Jenna's Truth, tackles cyberbullying head on. It offers answers and provides a starting point for discussion on the effects of bullying and is essential reading for teens, parents and teachers.

Behind the scenes, she has judged writing competitions (Romance Writers of Australia and DonateLife) and managed the social media of the Australian Short Story Festival (2016). Nadia is currently the YA Fiction Editor for the Australian Women Writers Challenge.

She also convenes a monthly teen bookclub for the Centre for Stories and regularly presents author talks and workshops for libraries and schools.
