NAACP DeKalb 66th Annual Freedom Fund Gala & Awards

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) DeKalb County Branch is hosting its 66th Annual Freedom Fund Gala & Awards - Leading the Fight for Equity! The theme for this formal affair is DeKalb - Where Wakanda & Zumunda Meet, so wear your finest representtions of Wakanda, Zamunda or Black Tie. This costumed gala is taking place Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. at the new Privi Event Center at 8020 Mall Parkway, Parking Lot 1C, Stonecrest, GA 30038. The celebration will be well attended by various community leaders and elected County officials. Last year sold out so be sure to get your tickets early!

The President’s Nominee and Sponsor’s VIP Reception will begin at 7:00 PM.                

The DeKalb Branch of the NAACP has been faithfully serving the community for 64 years with the mission of advocating for political, educational, social, and economic equality for all citizens, as well as eradicating racial injustice. NAACP DeKalb County Branch is honored to recognize the significant contributions of community leaders who represent our diverse DeKalb County population.

This year’s theme is “Leading the Fight for Equity”. This year’s gala will honor eight (8) great leaders in our community who have made noteworthy achievements toward civil rights. In addition, the gala will raise funds for the Branch to implement effective local and National NAACP civil rights programs with focus in the areas of education, civic engagement, economic sustainability, health, public safety, criminal justice and youth work.
