Description

Please join us on Monday, October 22, 2018 / 7-9:00pm at Optimism Brewing for #MyVoteMyVoice, an evening of voter activation and community celebration. Last year we came together as a community to stand against hate with the SEA NO H8 benefit event. This year it's all about voter activation—activating ourselves, our community and those across the country, while enjoying some sweet tunes, food truck fare and Optimism brews or non-alcoholic options.

Featured speakers:
Attorney General Bob Ferguson (7:15pm)
Washington State Poet Laureate, Claudia Castro Luna (7:30pm)
Aneelah Afzali, Executive Director MAPS-AMEN (7:40pm)

We will be featuring the best #MyVoteMyVoice voter activation video challenge submissions and letting you know how to get involved to have your vote "heard."

The evening will also feature action tables to:

- MEET NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS and have your questions answered on important issues;

- POSTCARD to activate voters in key districts;

- WIN collectable art prints from Amplifier Art Lab;

- LEARN learn about a great new smartphone app that simplifies voter activation;

- MEET the founders of Lawyer Moms of America, a Seattle-area non-profit helping immigrant children currently in federal detention and sign their pledge to free 12,800 children;

- MEET CivicLink founder Rhiannon Rasaretnam (founder of March for Our Lives Seattle) and learn how CL is engaging youth in the civic process.

-9:00pm: MARCH ON THE BALLOT BOX: we close the night with a live-music accompanied march through the Capitol Hill streets to turn in our ballots at the ballot box. Don't forget to bring your ballot with you!

And much more! Or just chill out and enjoy your community!

Sponsors: Amplifier, Cupcake Royale, Vote With Me, Lawyer Moms of America, WA Immigrant Solidarity Network -Red de Solidaridad de Inmigrantes en WA, Planned Parenthood Votes Northwest and Hawaii, SEA NO H8, CivicLink, and The Washington State Indivisible Podcast.
