Description

TO ALL PARENTS and CAREGIVERS,

WE HAVE A PROBLEM!

WE HAVE A PROBLEM IN OUR HOMES AND COMMUNITIES

IT'S MORE THAN A PROBLEM, IT'S A PANDEMIC AND SILENT CRIME.

We don't want to discuss it, we don't want to think about it, we don't want to hear it, and we don't want to feel uncomfortable. I get it, and understand.

However, adults are sexually abusing our children, and they don’t want us to talk about it. They want us to remain uncomfortable. They rely on us to stay silent, and uneducated about the nature of this crime. Ignorance is very dangerous when it comes to childhood sexual abuse, knowledge is strength, provides courage, gives power, and resilience.

Our children are living with shame, and in silence. They’re afraid, and act out their trauma in many ways. Most have nightmares, failing grades, display anger, aggression, suicide ideation or attempt, confusion, and the problem usually goes undetected for many years.

Think about the last time you were with a group of 10 children. Perhaps they were at school, sports practice, in a religious institution, in the park, at the mall, or a family reunion. 2 out of those 10 children have already, or will be sexually abused before they turn 18. The mere thought of if must have disturbed you from the pit of your stomach. Trust me, I know the feeling. Now, let’s talk about it. Let’s come together so we can prevent it. It is not easy, but it can be done, and I’m here to assist. .

Please join us for the launch of an empowering new book My Voice is My Super Power. This book was created to help parents, educators, guardians, authority figures, daycare providers, and all other adults teach the concepts of body safety, unsafe touching, and how to establish boundaries for children. In this book, children are taught in a fun way that their bodies are their own, their voice is their "Super Power', how to create a safety circle, and disclose abuse if happens. This event will include a book discussion, short workshop for parents, and light refreshments.
